Yes, static IP addresses are available across the Infinite Networks network. How you receive one depends on the plan you are on.
All business plans include a static IPv4 address as standard. If you are running a business service such as a VPN endpoint, an on-premises server, or any system that needs to accept inbound connections from the internet, your business plan already covers this and no further action is required.
Personal plans use Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT) by default. CGNAT shares a single public IPv4 address among multiple customers, which is necessary because the global pool of available IPv4 addresses is now severely limited. For everyday use such as web browsing, streaming, gaming, and video calls, CGNAT works transparently and you will not notice any difference. However, CGNAT does prevent inbound connections from the internet reaching your network. This means activities such as remote access to devices on your home network, hosting your own services, accepting work systems that rely on IP allowlisting, or running certain peer-to-peer applications may not function as expected without a static IPv4.
If you are on our Ultimate Experience plan, a static IPv4 address is already included as part of your service.
For all other personal plans, you can add a static IPv4 address through our Work From Home (WFH) Pro pack for an additional $10.00 per month on top of your existing plan fee. The WFH Pro pack is designed for customers who have a clear need for a static IPv4 address, such as working from home with a corporate system that uses IP allowlisting, accessing devices on your home network while travelling, hosting a personal server or game server, or running CCTV and home automation systems that need remote access.
Before we activate the WFH Pro pack, our support team will ask you to briefly describe how you intend to use the static IP. This is not a barrier to access. We ask because IPv4 addresses are a genuinely scarce resource and we want to make sure each one we allocate goes to a customer who has a real use for it. A short sentence describing your use case is usually enough.
In addition to IPv4, every Infinite Networks service includes a static /48 IPv6 prefix at no extra cost. IPv6 is natively supported across our entire network and is enabled by default on all services, including the Calix Gigaspire u4.2 supplied with the SmartLife Wi-Fi System. You do not need to request it, configure it, or pay any extra to use it. The /48 prefix assigned to your connection is a very large block of public IPv6 addresses that stays the same for the life of your service.
IPv6 is not affected by CGNAT, so if your application or device supports IPv6, you can accept inbound connections and host services without needing the WFH Pro pack at all.
We strongly recommend using IPv6 wherever possible. It is faster, more modern, and avoids the constraints of shared IPv4 entirely. Most current operating systems, routers, and consumer applications already support IPv6, and on our network it works out of the box.
To request the WFH Pro pack or to discuss your static IP requirements, contact our support team with a brief description of your use case. We will confirm the pricing, activate the service, and provide your static IPv4 details once your request is approved.
